If you haven't upgraded to a flat panel TV screen yet. You'd probably take either a LCD or plasma. When choosing between the 2 HDTV technologies it really depends on 2 things. Where do you plan to put the TV and what do you plan to watch on it? An LCD TV is best for bright room a plasma is best for a dark one.
Plasma tends to give you better quality in a dark scene. LCD HDTV are best to play video games on the TV or want to connect it to a computer. LCD's are less likely to suffer from "burn in". That happens when an image is on the screen to long. Plasma are best for movies and sports. If your watching shows with a lot of fast motion like Nascar, hockey, football. Then Plasma would be good for you.
While LCD and Plasma's are priced about the same in smaller sizes. If your looking for the largest flat panels on the market then you'd have to go with plasma's. All Plasma's are 42 inches or more. Even the best lcd tv at smallest is around 15 inchesBoth technologies are to last 60,000 hours which is about 15 years for average television viewing.
